 Established in 1988, we were the first full time private counselling clinic in Nanaimo. Before long, clients were traveling to our office from other communities on Vancouver Island for psychological help.

Our extensive clinical experience and depth of professional training is key to the services we provide. The core of our practice: a strong commitment to ethics and our belief in peoples’ ability to become their best selves. With confidence in our skills, we support your journey to mental health, working in a non-intrusive way that respects and develops your best abilities and resources. Our success is measured in the tremendous change our clients accomplish as they work with us.

Clients can self-refer and pay on a fee-for-service basis. We have relationships with numerous organizations on a pre-arranged billing basis.

Family physicians from many communities on Vancouver Island refer their patients to our office for assistance with depression and anxiety, addictions recovery support, stress counselling, family therapy and parenting training and support.

Always seeking the most effective treatments, in 1996 Deborah Marshall and Joan Campbell were among the first on Vancouver Island to be trained in the powerful EMDR therapy. We continue to offer effective psychotherapy, being well established in both traditional and innovative therapies.

Our staff offers many specialties including EMDR, Self Regulation Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Hakomi, relapse prevention, stress and burnout recovery, relationship therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, trauma therapy, equine facilitated psychotherapy, nature based therapy,  mindfulness based counselling  and separation and divorce support. You can book appointments for counselling with Deborah Marshall MA RCC,  Kate Burns MSW RSW and Patricia Gibson, MSW RCC RSW. Sasha Routley MA CYC works in our Generation Farms location with children, youth, young adults and women. Kerry Moon BA MA (cand) will be available in September. 

Our services are confidential. We support the Ethics as developed by our professional associations the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and the British Columbia Association of Social Workers.

Generation Farms is located twenty minutes from downtown Nanaimo, offering Equine Facilitated and Nature-Based Counselling programs for adults and youth.
