Riding Lessons

Emily Pelletier at Generation Farms runs a successful riding lesson program in hunter/jumper, dressage and natural horsemanship. Fun, well-trained school horses are available for all levels. You can also bring your own horse.

What We Offer

Our riding and horsemanship program offers you a place to:
  • Explore your relationship with horses
  • Advance your skills with thorough, correct instruction
  • Find your path – what is YOUR way of working with horses?
  • Set goals that work for you. Experience support for these goals rather than pressure to achieve them.
  • Be part of a community of like-minded riders and horse people
  • Apply your learning from horses to your personal life

Combining the traditional disciplines of hunter/jumper and dressage with horsemanship techniques is a way of putting the horse first. As a result, riders discover how to be one with and in tune with their horses - a sure-fire route to success in riding. We prioritize position development/correction and balance. Small changes in position can suddenly improve the connection and effectiveness with the horse. Riding in balance and from your core, regardless of your discipline, stops you from blocking your horse. Riding becomes easier and more comfortable for you and your horse and progress will follow. It is wonderful to learn this from the beginning, but it is never too late.

We strongly believe that you bring yourself to horses and horses to yourself. If you are an anxious person, you cannot expect to leave your anxiety at the barn gate. If you are easily frustrated you will not be the picture of patience with your horse. We feel it is important to take this into account. We will help you work with these emotions and convert possible roadblocks into opportunities for growth.

Riders at Generation Farms enjoy the freedom to explore the avenues of horses that appeal to them. On any given day you may find someone riding bareback or bridleless, a jumping lesson underway, practice for a dressage show, someone roundpenning a horse, etc. We love our horses and we find many ways to enjoy their company!

Resolving Rider Fear

For many years, Emily has been combining her counselling background with riding lessons to help riders deal with fear and performance issues. She has had her own struggles in this area and comes to this work from a gentle place of understanding. This type of challenge is important and can be life-changing. Emily would love to support you through this change process.

Generation Farms boasts a sand riding ring, large outdoor round pen, covered round pen/horsemanship area, and a large barn with grooming stalls, tack room and lockers. The horses enjoy field turnout year-round and living outside with ample shelter. This contributes to their physical and mental health. Over 40 acres of land includes ample turnout for the horses, our own hay production as well as a large summer jumping field.

This is horse paradise, but sorry, we do not take boarders.
