Women and Horses
Women and Horses

Women have long been fascinated and moved by the beauty of horses.  The horse also offers opportunity for women to deepen their connection to themselves, and to enhance their relationships with others.  Horses are social animals that give constant feedback and honest responses to the humans interacting with them.  As prey animals, they are acutely attuned to the inner state and intent of those around them.

WOMEN AND HORSES is a group for women who want to experience this unique and powerful interplay between woman and horse.
  • Enjoy the support and fellowship of other women
  • Discover the power of non-verbal communication and body language
  • Explore energetic boundaries
  • Increase mindfulness
  • Experience authentic community building
This group is offered as two or three-day workshop, or as a weekly series of three-hour sessions.

The supportive nature of this work allows for a powerful group experience in which transformational change occurs.  The 2004 Women and Horses group have opted to continue on a monthly basis in order to support each other in their process and learn more from the horses.  Local women that complete a Women and Horses workshop will be invited to join this ongoing group.  This workshop offers a wonderful opportunity for pre-existing women's groups to come together and deepen their connections with each other and themselves.

"The Women and Horses Group is such a treat.  Trust is growing as we share from our hearts and from being together as we each explore our interactions with the horses.  This group nourishes my soul and encourages me to grow" J.S.

Leading the Herd: Creating authentic leadership
Leading the Herd
Creating authentic leadership

The challenges of leadership affect us all in our daily lives whether in our personal or professional realms.   Horses have their own methods of leadership. They settle their differences and may be seen later eating from the same pile of hay, or grooming each other.  A herd in the wild relies on each other.  Horses respect a worthy leader that makes good decisions about food and safety for the herd.  A good herd leader is a clear communicator that earns respect.  They do not criticize themselves or others.  Horses have much to teach us about authentic leadership.

Leading the Herd is designed for anyone seeking to understand and develop authentic leadership skills through the way of the horse.  With horses as our guides, participants will receive the benefits of:
  • Establishing their own definition of leadership
  • Exploring the impact of their influence in relationships
  • Discovering how to get out of their own way
  • Seeing boundaries in action
  • Understanding the power of natural leadership
  • Learning skills of Authentic Community Building
Leading the Herd is usually offered as a two or three day workshop.  For local groups it can be made available in a weekly format.

"Through this work I am becoming a better person in all my roles."  E.A.

Seasons of Change: Moving through transition
Seasons of Change
Moving through transition

The process of change is challenging, even when the transition is positive and desired.  We want to know what lies ahead, want to have certainty.  And yet it benefits us to allow an important transition to unfold and to leave the old behind before we plan the future.  This is important in order to move past old procedures and belief systems and into our most authentic selves.  When head, emotion and soul are in agreement, decisions are much easier both to make and to move into action.

Horses can help us stay in the present moment.  To take the time it takes, and to move when it is the right time. In this workshop, the horses become a reflection of you in your transition, so that you can gain new perspective and insight.

"…sometimes the fastest way to get there is by going slow" Tom Dorrance

  1. Meet the Generation Farms herd
  2. Explore your stage of transition
  3. Understand how your past messages are affecting your current state
  4. Learn new ways to calm and ground yourself
  5. Discover what you need in order to move forward
Seasons of Change is generally a two or three day workshop.

Who the bleep am I? Pursuing authenticity
Open Your Heart

Horses have a highly developed ability to resonate when we are our most congruent and present selves.  The interspecies connection between human and horse opens our heart and creates endless possibilities.

This workshop will interest you if you want to enhance:
  • Living in the present moment
  • Mindfulness
  • Connection to your core
  • Intuition
  • Positive energy
  • Interconnection
  • Awareness of your gifts
  • Emotional flexibility
  • Spiritual deepening
  • Accepting relationships
  • Instinctive boundaries
Included will be a series of exercises and demonstrations that are specially designed to increase emotional fitness and to change constriction into openness.  No previous horse experience is required.  All work with the horses will be unmounted and the proximity of horse contact is individual.

This workshop is accepted as a pre-requisite for further work at Epona.  Participants from previous Generation Farms workshops are welcome.
