EFEL is most often experienced in a group setting such as the Way of the Horse workshops, but can also be an individual process.  It is helpful following an EFEL workshop or session for participants to use their own ways of integrating new information such as journaling, meditating or talking with trusted friends and family. For people with serious or long-standing psychological challenges, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy offers an individualized approach, and may be more appropriate.
